Barrie Financial Incentives Program

The City of Barrie offers financial incentives to businesses located in the downtown, Allendale and Georgian College neighbourhoods, for business owners seeking to improve their properties. The following grants and loans are available:

  • Tax Increment Grant Program
  • Application Fees, Permit Fees, and Special Fees Grant for Program
  • Adaptive Re-use and Upgrade to the Building Code Program
  • Facade and Signage Loan Program
  • Cash-in-lieu of Parkland Dedication Grant
  • Renovation Loan

Bradford West Gwillimbury offers two different Community Improvement Plan Programs, one geared towards their downtown, the other for their Artesian and Reagens Industrial Parks.

For the Downtown, the following grants and loans are available:

  • Facade, Landscape, Signage Improvement Grant Program
  • Building, Restoration, Renovation, or Improvement Program
  • Planning Fees and Building Permit Fees Grant Program
  • Development Charge Grant Program
  • Tax-Based Redevelopment Grant Program

For the Artesian and Reagens Industrial Parks, the following grants and loans are available:

Orillia

Downtown Orillia Facade Improvement Incentive

The intent of the program is to provide financial assistance to property owners and their tenants within the Downtown Orillia Business Improvement Area to assist them in carrying out external improvements such as physical upgrading and aesthetic enhancement to their buildings. Applicants may be eligible for a grant of up to $5,000 to carry out their facade improvement project.

Development Charge Exemptions

Midland offers development charge exemptions for developments classified as industrial uses, and for lands classified by Midland Zoning By-Laws to be in the downtown core.
