“I loved coming to our summer home in Wasaga Beach, growing up. This area has so much to offer – the water, the beaches and the mountain. Whether you're into hiking, kayaking or skiing, there is something for everyone all year round," said Jones.
When Jones first moved to Collingwood, she worked in a retail photography shop for a few years and then decided she was ready for a change. During her job search, she was on the lookout for a company that provided ample opportunities for learning and growth.
“I searched 'best places to work in Collingwood' and not only did AGNORA come up as a result for the local market but also as one of Canada's Top Employers," said Jones.
Excited about the opportunity, Gillian applied for a position in AGNORA's print and graphics department. Gillian now operates the Dip-tech printer, which is the largest digital ceramic in-glass printer on this continent, with the capability to print up to 130"x300".
AGNORA fabricates the largest architectural glass in North America. Their 225,000-square-foot production facility caters to a variety of cultural, residential, commercial and retail projects. It's the kind of glass you see in stores like Apple, Dolce & Gabbana and major buildings such as airport control towers and the Museum of Modern Art (MoMa).
“While we make really big, really cool glass, what's really unique about working at AGNORA is the culture here. First and foremost our company is about people," said Jones.
The team of 70 employees at AGNORA enjoy a number of special amenities including a full-facility gym, personal trainer, on-site registered massage therapist, employee-run garden, bicycles, company-sponsored events, lunches, and more.
“Every person that works here really enjoys coming to work. I am motivated to excel and feel a great deal of pride in the work that we do," said Jones.
