Economic Development Strategy 2027-2031

Simcoe County is embarking on the development of a new Economic Development Strategy to help guide the County’s economic growth, competitiveness, and prosperity over the coming years.
As communities and economies continue to evolve, it is important to ensure that Simcoe County has a clear and coordinated vision for supporting businesses, attracting investment, fostering innovation, strengthening workforce development, and enhancing the region’s overall economic well-being. This forward-looking initiative will bring together businesses, community organizations, industry leaders, municipal partners, and other key stakeholders to identify opportunities, address challenges, and establish strategic priorities that reflect the County’s unique strengths and aspirations.

The resulting strategy will serve as a refreshed roadmap for economic development efforts and help position Simcoe County for long-term success.

This is where you come in!

A strong Economic Development Strategy is built on local knowledge and input. Businesses, entrepreneurs, industry representatives, community partners, municipalities, Indigenous communities, and regional stakeholders are being engaged through interviews, focus groups, workshops, and surveys to help identify priorities, opportunities, and challenges facing Simcoe County’s economy.

A survey will be launched in the coming weeks and shared broadly. We encourage all interested organizations and residents to participate and share their perspectives.

Feedback gathered through the engagement process will inform the development of strategic priorities and actions to guide economic development efforts across Simcoe County for years to come.
