The County of Simcoe and City of Barrie are partnering with CTV on a unique series to promote regional businesses and employment opportunities in Central Ontario. CTV will launch a new eight-week series and online resource known as Central Ontario Works, which will showcase local business success stories and sector-specific opportunities and serve as a resource for job seekers and employers in Simcoe County and Barrie.
The eight-week series will air every Tuesday, starting April 24th, during the local 6 p.m. newscast. The series will include interviews with local businesses in an effort to promote regional opportunities and advance the local labour market. The stories will be posted on https://barrie.ctvnews.ca/works along with resources such as job tips and a link to JobCentral (www.jobcentralsm.ca) which is a free one-stop shop for employers to post employment opportunities and for job seekers to find those opportunities within the region.
The feature will also serve to demonstrate the opportunities that new businesses and industries realize by locating in Central Ontario and serve as a business and labour attraction tool. The project will feature a second eight week series in fall 2018.
