County of Simcoe Hires RTDS Lead

The County of Simcoe Economic Development Office is pleased to welcome Daniel Van Kampen to our team as the Regional Technology Development Site Program Lead. Daniel will be responsible for the delivery, coordination, and overall success of the Regional Technology Development Site (RTDS) for Simcoe County, Barrie, and Orillia. In his role, he will promote a culture of innovation and collaboration across Simcoe County by bringing together postsecondary institutions, industry partners, accelerators and innovation centres, and government agencies to support small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) in developing, testing, and commercializing new technologies in automotive and smart mobility.

With over 20 years of experience driving investment, business growth, and municipal strategy across Ontario, he has a proven track record of leading cross-functional teams, advancing multi-million-dollar projects and collaborating with public and private stakeholders. His most recent career economic development experiences have been with the Towns of Cobourg and Whitby.
