York University’s Intellectual Property Law & Technology Law School Program – IP Osgoode’s IP Innovation Clinic, in partnership with Sandbox Centre and Invest Barrie, invites you to join a 3-Part Series: The IP Lunch Club! During the month of March, IP Innovation Clinic & SBX will be offering free virtual info sessions across a wide range of topics that will aid you in making sure your biz, idea, or product is properly protected.
Tattoo artists, graphic designers, art businesses, graffiti art, and the creative industry at large are continuously facing unique challenges when it comes to their legal rights and protecting their work. Does this sound like something you can relate to?
In Part 2 of 3 of the IP Lunch Club Series, join the team at IP Innovation Clinic as they provide you with legal information about Canadian copyright law. This includes which aspects of your work can and cannot be protected and how this protection is activated. We will guide you through some legal hurdles and potential landmines associated with work created under an employment or other contract. You will also learn how copyright is monetized through various types of licenses and assignments. Lastly, we will explain how emerging types of art and monetization methods, including NFTs and Blockchain, AI, Appropriation art, and specific trademarks such as colour, scent and design marks may affect copyright.
The IP Lunch Club series is proudly presented by Invest Barrie.
