Township of Springwater Community Improvement Plan


The Township of Springwater’s Community Improvement Plan (CIP) is designed to support local businesses and stimulate investment in the community. Besides supporting and incentivizing new development within the Township, the CIP also invests in façade improvements, new signage, and building renovations and improvements. The CIP has a total of eight grant programs available to business owners within the Community Improvement Project Area and who meet the eligibility criteria.

Town of Penetanguishene Community Improvement Plans


The Town of Penetanguishene offers two Community Improvement Plans (CIP). Both programs provide financial incentives to support improvement projects in Penetanguishene.

  • Downtown CIP
  • Affordable and Sustainable Housing CIP

Each CIP has seven financial incentive programs.

Town of Wasaga Beach


The Town of Wasaga Beach offers a variety of incentive and grant programs, including the Facade Improvement Program and the Municipal Grants and Sponsorships Program.

Barrie Housing Community Improvement Plan


The Housing Community Improvement Plan (CIP) applies city-wide and is intended to encourage rapid investment in new housing units by providing financial incentives and other programs. In 2025, various incentive programs are offered through the Housing CIP for eligible projects that target new housing development within Barrie, including

  • Per Door Grant Program
  • Development Charges (DC) Deferral Requests
  • Tax Increment Equivalent Grant (TIEG) Program
  • Exemption from Planning Application Fees Program

Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury CIP and Mural Incentive Programs


Community Improvement Plans (CIPs) are grants and/or loans provided by a municipality to stimulate economic activity through a variety of means, including new building construction, expansion of existing building stock and building improvements (both functional and aesthetic). The City of Orillia Downtown Tomorrow Community Improvement Plan (DTCIP)


Launched in 2017, the City of Orillia Downtown Tomorrow Community Improvement Plan (DTCIP) seeks to foster growth and development in Downtown Orillia. Equipped with $200,000, the 2025 grant program aims to offset costs of development in the downtown core for DTCIP projects such as façade improvements, signage, feasibility studies, building improvements and the creation of residential units.
