Portal Features

The Land Inventory Portal includes the following features to support non-residential property research:

  • Ability to conduct a property search by land type (commercial, industrial, farm, institutional and non-residential vacant land), size and price
  • Community profile data containing information regularly requested by site selectors and potential businesses to help them understand the current business climate within Simcoe County including demographics, labour force and consumer expenditures
  • Ability to save ‘favourite’ properties and review at a later time
  • Identification of municipal incentive information
  • A draw function to allow users to focus property searches on a particular area
  • Map layers with additional information such as boundaries for hydro distributors
  • New property detail documents in html and pdf format
  • The ability to add information for properties not represented by participating real estate boards

The County of Simcoe has formed agreements with local Real Estate Boards including the Barrie & District Association of Realtors, the Southern Georgian Bay Association of Realtors and the Lakelands Association of Realtors. As realtors from these participating Boards update their commercial, industrial, institutional, farm or vacant, non-residential listings these postings appear on the Land Inventory site and are updated automatically.

If a property is not represented by a realtor from one of these participating Real Estate Boards, the owner or property representative can submit their property details directly to the County of Simcoe Economic Development Office. Interested parties can contact the Economic Development Office at edo@simcoe.ca or add a property on the Add Property page.

Our network of staff and partners may have information on potential property options that are not publicly listed on the website. The Economic Development Office can coordinate a Request for Information (RFI) to the County’s 16 member municipalities and the Cities of Barrie and Orillia on your behalf to try to identify options that may suit your needs.
