The RTDS was established by the County of Simcoe Economic Development Office, in collaboration with the City of Barrie and the City of Orillia as foundational partners. All municipal partners contribute financially and actively support the development, promotion, and implementation of the RTDS.

Through technology development and service delivery partners, small and medium sized enterprises receive R&D, prototyping, simulation, IP, commercialization and innovation support, plus sector-specific programming and mentorship.
