Our economic development office, in partnership with many of the local municipalities has just put out a marketing publication on the Simcoe County Region. Check it out here and tell us what you think!

The Orillia Manufacturers Association has opened their doors and are welcoming all regional manufacturers to partake in their Annual Golf Tournament, taking place on June 13.  This event will be lots of fun and is a great way to network with your fellow manufacturing colleagues.  Click for more information and to register

The South Georgian Bay Small Business Enterprise Centre is hosting a "5 Top Ways To Kick-Start Your Sales" Workshop on May 29.  To find out more and register, click here!  They are also hosting a series of lunchtime business planning workshops taking place every Wednesday in the month of June.  During these interactive workshops you will learn how to test your business idea, develop a strong brand, connect with your customers, and create a powerful business plan. Our Regional Innovation Centre, VentureLAB, is hosting their 3rd annual MedEdge summit on June 20 in Richmond Hill. The MedEdge summit is geared towards those companies operating in the MedTech sector (medical/technology and every intersection in between) and is designed to provide a snapshot of opportunities in Ontario for the sector, opportunities to network with colleagues, medical professionals, and potential future national and international customers, and discover emerging solutions in the field from some of those on the leading edge of the sector!  Click for more information, agenda, and to register!

New Financing Opportunity for SMEs - The Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario) has made a $20-million contribution through its Prosperity Initiative. This investment will support two loan funds, known as the Southern Ontario Fund for Investment in Innovation (SOFII). SOFII is designed to support high-growth, innovative Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in rural and urban communities by offering loans of usually $150,000 to $500,000. The purpose of SOFII is to create jobs in our communities, by providing a source of financing for viable companies to implement innovative projects. Click here to learn more!
