County of Simcoe & Invest Barrie Delegation Head to CANSEC

The County of Simcoe and Invest Barrie, along with five local businesses, will be attending Canada’s largest and most important Global Defence and Security Trade Show, CANSEC, in Ottawa from May 31 to June 1. The Canadian Association of Defence and Security Industries (CADSI) will host CANSEC 2023, showcasing leading-edge technologies, products, and services for land-based, naval, aerospace, and joint forces military units. Invest Barrie and the County of Simcoe have a strong partnership and work together to grow the local economy and attract new investment to the area. Together, they support local companies and explore new sectors for opportunities and growth.

Local companies attending as part of the delegation include Brotech Precision CNC Inc., Environmental Systems Corp., Raytheon ELCAN, Sensor Technology Ltd., and Volatus Aerospace. These innovative companies are leaders in specialized technologies and processes and will be heading to Ottawa to learn more about prospects within the Defence and Security Industries.

Raytheon ELCAN, located in Midland, delivers high‐precision, platform-and sensor-agnostic optical systems to help customers see faster and further across the spectrum. Sensor Technology Ltd. is a global leader in piezoelectric-based acoustic tools and a proven OEM partner in underwater acoustics. Throughout their 40-ear history, Sensor Technology Ltd. has specialized in manufacturing of piezoelectric ceramic solutions, custom acoustic transducers, and hydrophones. Their piezo ceramic division is located in Collingwood, with their assembly division located in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.

Volatus Aerospace Corp., located in Oro-Medonte, is a leading provider of integrated drone solutions throughout North America and growing into Latin America and globally.
