Grain Farmers of Ontario

Grain Farmers of Ontario is a commodity organization representing barley, corn, oat, soybean, and wheat farmers across Ontario. Grain Farmers of Ontario operates the Grains Innovation Fund designed to support projects that accelerate growth and innovation in the province’s grain end-use markets.

Ministry of Indigenous Affairs and First Nations Economic Reconciliation

There are several funding programs in Ontario designed to support Indigenous economic development by offering business, employment and training opportunities to Indigenous peoples.

Racialized and Indigenous Supports for Entrepreneurs Grant Program

The Racialized and Indigenous Supports for Entrepreneurs (RAISE) is a grant program that also provides access to business development training, culturally responsive and tailored business coaching, as well as networking opportunities to support Indigenous, Black and other racialized entrepreneurs in Ontario.

Ministry of the Environment Conservation and Parks

The Ontario Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP) offers several funding programs aimed at protecting natural ecosystems, supporting biodiversity, and empowering communities to take environmental action.

The Ontario Community Environment Fund (OCEF), for instance, invests money collected from environmental penalties into local environmental projects. It supports activities like shoreline cleanups, habitat restoration, and tree planting.

The Farm Washwater Innovation and Stewardship Efforts (Farm WISE) Fund helps vegetable farmers in the Holland Marsh area adopt innovative technologies to protect the Lake Simcoe watershed.

Ministry of Energy and Mines

The Ontario Ministry of Energy and Mines offers a range of funding programs designed to support innovation, exploration, and community engagement across the province’s energy and mining sectors, including the Critical Minerals Innovation Fund (CMIF).

The CMIF supports projects focused on research, development, and commercialization of innovative technologies, techniques, processes, and solutions in Ontario’s critical minerals sector. Funding targets priority areas such as battery supply chain, deep exploration and mining techniques, mineral recovery, and other projects that strengthen the sector.
