Ontario Trillium Foundation

Ontario Trillium Foundation grants support a wide range of organizations and communities in delivering programs and services that provide direct benefits to communities and the people of Ontario.

Community investment grants include the Seed Grant, Grow Grant, and Capital Grant.

The Youth Opportunities Fund (YOF) supports community-led initiatives that help create safe and inclusive spaces, empower youth and families, strengthen pathways to education and employment, and address the unique challenges facing communities. YOF places a strong emphasis on supporting grassroots organizations that are working to improve outcomes for Indigenous (First Nation, Metis or Inuit) and/or Black youth.

BioEnterprise Canada

BioEnterprise Canada offers various funding programs, primarily provincial in scope. Ontario-focused initiatives delivered by BioEnterprise include the Ontario Agri-Food Research Initiative (OAFRI) Commercialization Stream and the Sustainable Growth and Adoption Program (SGAP). In addition to direct funding, BioEnterprise provides coaching, mentorship, and networking opportunities to support agri-food innovators.

Grain Farmers of Ontario

Grain Farmers of Ontario is a commodity organization representing barley, corn, oat, soybean, and wheat farmers across Ontario. Grain Farmers of Ontario operates the Grains Innovation Fund designed to support projects that accelerate growth and innovation in the province’s grain end-use markets.

Ministry of Indigenous Affairs and First Nations Economic Reconciliation

There are several funding programs in Ontario designed to support Indigenous economic development by offering business, employment and training opportunities to Indigenous peoples.

Racialized and Indigenous Supports for Entrepreneurs Grant Program

The Racialized and Indigenous Supports for Entrepreneurs (RAISE) is a grant program that also provides access to business development training, culturally responsive and tailored business coaching, as well as networking opportunities to support Indigenous, Black and other racialized entrepreneurs in Ontario.

Ministry of the Environment Conservation and Parks

The Ontario Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP) offers several funding programs aimed at protecting natural ecosystems, supporting biodiversity, and empowering communities to take environmental action.

The Ontario Community Environment Fund (OCEF), for instance, invests money collected from environmental penalties into local environmental projects. It supports activities like shoreline cleanups, habitat restoration, and tree planting.

The Farm Washwater Innovation and Stewardship Efforts (Farm WISE) Fund helps vegetable farmers in the Holland Marsh area adopt innovative technologies to protect the Lake Simcoe watershed.
