Funding Opportunities

Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada


This department provides funding, financing, and support for businesses seeking to enter and/or grow their export market. They also offer trade mission events to different countries and global industry meetings, which their website details. Funding opportunities include Going Global Innovation, the Investment Cooperation Program, and more.

Georgian Angel Network


Provides angel investment and business development support to high-growth potential firms in Simcoe County.

Indigenous Pathfinder service


Indigenous Pathfinder service is a one-stop shop for advice and referral to help navigate the relevant information, tools and support available to start or expand activities in the agriculture and agri-food sector.

Indigenous Services Canada


This program funds projects that develop the capacity of First Nations and Inuit communities to perform core functions of government such as planning and risk management, leadership, basic administration and financial management.

LSRA Aerospace Development Fund


The LSRA Development Fund makes $100,000 a year over 3 years available to businesses that seek to make a new investment at the Lake Simcoe Regional Airport through development of a new facility, or lease of existing facility (minimum 5 year lease). Businesses must invest at least $1,000,000 in their project and complete their project within 2 years of funding approval.

Eligible projects will attract private sector investment; develop the aerospace sector in Simcoe County; create jobs and build talent; lead to broad positive economic impacts; and encourage research, innovation and collaboration.

MInistry of Research and Innovation and Science​


Arts and cultural groups and other members of creative industries

Public libraries, community museums, heritage organizations and historical societies. Three museum advisors, one conservation advisor and one historical resources consultant offer specialized advisory services to these grant recipients and other Ontario museums and heritage groups. Their services include site visits, training workshops and printed material such as a Museum Notes series.

Tourism associations, economic development corporations, municipalities, festivals and events, tourism businesses and organizations interested in undertaking tourism-related initiatives which support industry development and increased visitation.
